The people companies call before they commit to Asia
Asia Market Entry is a go-to-market advisory firm in Singapore. We have traded since 2015 and were incorporated here in 2016. We help companies grow revenue in Asia: what the plan should be, and then making it happen.
We are deliberately small and senior. Our founder runs every workshop himself, and the network of specialists behind us was built over more than a decade, so a company gets the right person for each part of the job rather than whoever happens to be free.
Start with one hour →We see several hundred expansion attempts a year, not just our own clients
Singapore EDB routes companies to us for The Workshop. Trade agencies in Finland, Ireland, Estonia, Canada, Australia and the UK do something similar. That is the reason our advice carries weight: we are not generalising from a handful of engagements, we are looking at what actually happens across a large number of attempts to enter this market, including the ones that do not work.
It is also why we will tell a company to wait. We have seen what happens when they do not.
Four things that are unusual in this category
We will carry a number
One of very few market-entry firms willing to own a revenue target and be measured against it, rather than delivering a strategy and leaving.
Relationships and systems
A decade of relationships in this market, and modern go-to-market engineering run with our sister firm The GTM Studio. Most firms have one or the other.
You get the founder
Every Workshop is run personally by Steve Dawson. There is no junior consultant between you and the person with the experience.
We turn work away
Companies that are not ready are told to wait. It costs us an engagement and saves them a year, and it is why agencies keep sending people.
Steve Dawson
Steve has been based in Singapore since 2012. He founded Asia Market Entry, which has traded since 2015, and co-founded its sister firm The GTM Studio with Charles Tidswell.
His own background is channel and partner programmes across Asia, which is why that is the work the firm is most often hired for. He runs every Workshop personally, and delivers the masterclasses for trade agency and accelerator cohorts himself rather than sending someone.
He is a New Zealand Trade and Enterprise Beachhead Advisor, an ACE.SG mentor, and a member of the British Tech Advisory Board.
Design thinking, go-to-market engineering, solution selling
We diagnose the real constraint before proposing anything, in a structured session rather than an interview.
Clean data, live signals and systems that let a small team reach a large market and still say something specific.
We originate and progress enterprise deals, selling in the way buyers in this region actually buy.
Tell us where you are stuck
An hour with Steve, free and supported by Singapore EDB, and a written analysis afterwards. If Asia is not the right move yet, that is what the hour will tell you.
